REAL MEN DON’T BUY GIRLS
Ireland Launches Anti-Trafficking Social Media Campaign
Irish men are uniting to spread the message ‘REAL MEN DON’T BUY GIRLS’. Several high profile men launched the campaign in April hoping to raise awareness of the issues relating to human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Young girls are coerced into ‘working abroad’ however the reality is that they end up in indoor prostitution where they are sold to Irish pimps and brothels and forced to sell sex. In the last three years 1 in 4 people trafficking into Ireland for sexual exploitation was a minor. In order to take a stand against this injustice and violation of human rights Irish men are sending out a clear message that they don’t and won’t purchase a vulnerable exploited child.
Following on from the launch many young men have taken part in the campaign by taking their pictures with the sign and posting on social media. If you want to join us print the sign here or make your own and send to us at communications@immigrantcouncil.ie
