FINLAND LAUNCHES “HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS NO FAIRY TALE” CAMPAIGN
In December 2012 Finnish Ombudsman for Minorities Eva Biaudet, and the International Migration Agency (IOM) have united to launch a campaign against human trafficking and exploitation, ‘Human Trafficking is No Fairy Tale’.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about Finland’s status as a transit and destination country for dozens of victims of human trafficking every year, and to show the horrendous exploitation these victims face in the sex and work industries.
The campaign’s website features human-trafficking cases using imagery from traditional fairy tales. The campaign video, set to an interpretation of the well-known Finnish tango ‘Satumaa’, tells the story of a typical victim of human trafficking. The campaign’s website, featuring case studies and a download app for the “Fairyland” song, can be visited at http://ihmiskauppaeiolesatua.fi/
